So once again its time for an update. I have had some really good weeks of training. It has been mostly weight training and starting to add bike riding. I have seen a lot of improvemts to my physical apperance as well as I can see improvement in my strength. That is all on the plus side. I am going to be starting the fat loss part of my training next week. I will still do strength training but add extra cardio workouts. I will include bike rides the night of a strength tainning day. I am also have beeen getting shin splints in my left leg. I think it a combo of a lot of calf exercises and running. This is slightly depressing since I need to back off both of the running and calf workouts. I am trying the trick of walking on my heels backwards on an incline of a tredmil. I will keep everyone updated to see if it works. I got two free passes to try out a local city health center. I am going to be using them for lap swimming, at least for now. I added lights to my bike and in the mornings that I am not going to the gym I have been going for rides. I was nervous at first that traffic would be bad form people going to work. I have been out twice at 5am and the traffic is light. I will continue my every other day morning rides and try to extend them on Saturday. I have again discovered the benifit of rest days. Some mornings i wake up at my appointed time of 4:23 and feel tired and sore. I decide at that time to sleep untill 6 then get ready for work. After work I dont do anything but relax and maybe clean a little. This has proved to be super benifical to my workouts later in the week. And I use Sunday to the full advantge of napping after church. I think my body likes the rest. Besides is when we are resting that our body builds itself. Other than all of that I am feeling great. So far has been the easy part. The cardio training over the next weeks will be hard. I am going to have to push beoynd my limits. I also am going to need to use mental toughness to push through the pain. Like the pro athleates I am going to have to learn how to suffer. I know my body can handle it. It is a strong body and has got me trough plenty of hard things before. I am jsut going to need to convince my brain to forget the fact that my muscles are screaming. This is what the pros do. No drug can overcome that. Its somthing that Lance Armstong had. I can do it.
Tell next time
Brad
